The group moosootoo has
started a new residency at Kalamaras in
Bayswater. It will be Rebetiko Laiko music afternoons between t 1pm to 5pm
approximately. The venue is stylish and hosts a very special,
upbeat team of shefs and waiters. It is situated less than a minute walk
from Bayswater station and very close to the Greek Metropolitan Church of St
Sophia - Holy Wisdom. Also close to Queensway station. Kalamaras has an
impressive history. In the old days it used to have live music with artists as
big as Giorgos Zambetas visiting it and performing there. It was also visited by
famous Greek actors like Tzeni Karezi, Giorgos Fountas and Aliki Vougiouklaki
and stars like the Beatles. Moosootoo are looking forward to making
this venue a hang-out for their group and a place where they can meet
with their friends and share the music, the food and the fun
of Greek culture. There is no minimum meal-charge, but if you want to
eat or drink the there will be a Poikilia (meze platter) on the menu at
£16 to be eaten by one person or to be shared as meze. House Wine is £14 and we
have set the music charge at £3 per person. The address is 66 Inverness
